Estimate the daily energy use of telemetry stations and check if the solar panel and battery can keep them running through typhoon days.
On a shared channel the radio hears every other station's transmission. Kenwood data bursts are about 3 s.
The radio powers up, transmits, stays on at standby current for the rest of the window, then switches off. Any ACK received inside the window is covered by the standby current.
Logger, sensors and modem together, running all day.
The device is switched on only while broadcasting and draws nothing otherwise. It runs at the system voltage, so enter the current it draws at that voltage. Replace the example values with the device's datasheet or measured currents.
The radio and datalogger run from a 24 V to 12 V converter, so their current drain is measured at 12 V.
System efficiency: use 0.8 for MPPT charge controllers, about 0.65 for PWM.
